What are your thoughts and predictions for the 2012 season? Going to Green Bay and getting that first win. That’s the whole focus. We’re trying to not get ahead of ourselves. Let’s get better this off-season, but really the focus is to win that first game. •••

What are you working on in the off-season? I continue to work on my fundamentals, especially this year without having to start from scratch with the new playbook. I am looking at last year’s film and the stuff I need to work on, especially physically where I need to get better; work- ing on my fundamentals, working on my feet, on my mechanics. Getting stronger

and running and condition- ing is all part of it all off- season. I might be involved with the x’s and o’s and now as we come together as a team and come to mini- camp, start working on the timing. We’ve got some new faces on offense and incor- porating them and trying to get a jump-start and take advantage of these reps in the off-season. ••• Are you excited about the new 49er stadium? What are your thoughts on leav- ing Candlestick? Candlestick is such a historic place. So many things have gone on there, and so many moments for the ’Niners organization. But it’s time and I’m excited about it. Candlestick Park is

a unique place to play foot- ball. It felt like it had its own weather system. It’s a great place to play, but I think the guys are all ready for the stadium to come down south to Santa Clara. I think it’ll be better conditions. We travel to new stadi-

ums all over the NFL and we see how nice they are and then to come back to the Stick, yeah it has a lot of nostalgia, but it is pretty old. So I’m looking forward to some new digs. ••• You grew up in San Diego; have you converted to the Northern California lifestyle? I do, I really view myself now as a Northern Californian. I grew up in San Diego and went to high

school there but when I was 18 I was gone and I haven’t lived there since. The vast majority of my adult life has been here in Northern California. It’s really what I identify with now—I love it here. There’s so much to do; in a few-hours drive you can get to Napa, or up to the city or down to Monterey, head over to Tahoe, go to Yose- mite or the East Bay. There are just so many things within a day’s reach. I love it; there’s never a dull weekend. •••

What is something the fans don’t know about you? I guess I really feel I’m a pretty normal guy when it comes down to it. I do a lot of the same things as anyone else. I am a huge sports fan.
