ON-COURSE RULES SEMINARS The NCGA ran two suc- cessful on-course rules semi- nars on back-to-back weeks in June at Poppy Ridge GC in Livermore and Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach.

If you missed out, there

are two more opportunities in October. The fi rst takes place Monday, October 8, in the Sacramento area with the second scheduled for Monday, October 15, in

the Bay Area. Both seminars run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and cost $20 for NCGA tournament offi cials, $30 for NCGA members and $40 for non-members. The cost in- cludes continental breakfast, lunch and a 2012-2015 Rules of Golf book. Appropriate golf attire is required. On- course rules seminars are a great way to visually learn the Rules of Golf as Director of Education Ryan Gregg and other certifi ed rules offi cials take you through actual rulings that occur on the golf course. To register, visit the

NCGA’s website and under the “Rules” tab click on “Rules Seminars.”

Edgewood Tahoe Resort MEMBERS-ONLY OUTINGS

Members-only outings season is almost half over. Over the next few months NCGA members are invited to play at: • Half Moon Bay GL (Sunday, August 19) • Pasatiempo GC (Monday, September 17) • Edgewood Tahoe Resort (Sunday, September 30) • Quail Lodge (Friday, October 12) • Carmel Valley Ranch (Saturday, October 13) • Corral de Tierra CC (Monday, October 15) • Del Paso CC (Monday, November 12) • Lake Merced GC (Monday, November 19) The members-only outings program was created to allow NCGA mem- bers opportunities to play resort or private-access golf courses for a favor- able price. Additionally, the cost for these outings usually covers more than just green fees, as carts, lunch, range balls and a prize are included. NCGA Foundation Winners The NCGA Foundation held its Sixth Annual Youth on Course Invitational in early June at Cache

Creek Resort and Yocha DeHe Golf Club. The presenting sponsor, Chevron, partnered with the Founda- tion to honor members of the California state legislature and raise money for the Youth on Course pro- gram. The event enjoyed attendance by numerous state assembly members and senators. The tournament raises upwards of $100,000 annually to help fund the Foundation’s Youth on Course program, benefi t-

ting youth throughout Northern California by teaching valuable life skills and core values through the game of golf. After a lovely reception held on the eve of the tournament, the team of Terry Brennand, Eric Goto, Dave Low and Bill

Waltermeyer won fi rst place in the four-man scramble. Coming in second was the group of Andrew Baldanado, Dan Eaton, Kelly Jensen and Kevin Sloat. Longest-drive and closest-to-the-hole contests were seen around the course, with prizes rang- ing from free golf at Winchester CC to AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am tickets. The successful event is one of a full slate of charity tournaments that take place throughout the year to support Northern

California’s youth. To learn more about other opportunities to support the NCGA Foundation in your area, contact Adam Heieck at 831/625-4653.
