HS2 professional services contracts awarded

The final lot of contracts under the professional services framework has been awarded, HS2 Ltd has announced.


The four land referencing contracts, covering land access and referencing for ecological, environmental and engineering surveys, were won by Mouchel, Mott MacDonald and Terraquest, which won two.


The contracts also require the preparation of a schedule of all owners and occupiers of land affected by the scheme in a Book of Reference, to be submitted to Parliament with other documents at the end of 2013.


Alison Munro, chief executive of HS2 Ltd, said: “Our professional services contracts have now been awarded and we are fully on track to deliver the designs and documents required for the hybrid bill, which is planned to start its process through Parliament at the end of 2013.


“The professional services contractors will work closely with HS2 Ltd’s engineers, environment specialists and property team to carry out the essential work for the hybrid bill preparation for Phase 1 of the route from London to the West Midlands.


“We now have a very strong team


with the specialist knowledge and expertise these companies bring to the project and work is well underway.”


The contracts have been awarded to:


Terraquest – £752k London


Metropolitan Area contract for land referencing services from Euston Station to the Colne Valley viaduct, including the link to HS1 and the interchange station at Old Oak Common.


Mouchel – £934k Country South contract for land referencing services from the Colne Valley through Buckinghamshire,


Northamptonshire Oxfordshire.


and


Mott MacDonald – £1.1m Country North contract for land referencing services through Warwickshire and Staffordshire, and the connection to the West Coast Main Line.


Terraquest – £358k West Midland Metropolitan Area contract for land referencing services for Curzon Street Station complex; Birmingham Interchange Station; Washwood Heath Rolling Stock Maintenance Depot; and a people mover


from the Interchange station to the NEC/Airport.
