R2P wins Electrostar CCTV
contract
On-train CCTV systems are to be installed on 184 of Porterbrook Leasing’s Electrostars by ‘R2P’ (Rail & Road Protec GmbH).
The company is providing new saloon, forward-facing and pantograph cameras, which will also enable the operator to view live footage while the train is in service.
Balvinder Chana, R2P director UK, said: “Over a 3G real time connection the TOC staff will be able to view the live and recorded footage remotely. We are pleased to receive this order; it will provide passengers travelling on these trains a safe and secure travelling environment.”
Chana told RTM he could not reveal the value of the contract.
Lee Doggett, Porterbrook’s commercial manager for London and South East, said:
“The quality and fully functioning on-train systems are important to our customers and R2P will provide us and our customers with the best support available in this key area.”
