Doherty High School students Colby Gillette (left) and Juan Tarango (right), and their instructor, Brad Wheaton (center), won the Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills state competition on May 12 at the Lincoln College of Technology in Denver, and represented Colorado at the national champi- onships June 12 at Ford headquarters in Dearborn, Mich. Gillette and Tarango fi nished ahead of nine other teams. Each team had to pass written tests and fi x all the bugs planted in the identically equipped 2012 Ford Fusions assigned to them.
