each award-winner has reflected the values of the franchise in their own way – from extraordinary business growth to outstanding customer service.

Exceptional business growth Andrew Banning, who joined the network in 2009, has been named ChipsAway ‘Franchisee of the Year 2012’ based on his exceptional business growth. Before joining ChipsAway, Andrew spent

10 years operating a lucrative business as a luxury car wholesaler, with high financial rewards and a lifestyle to match – and so his interest in ChipsAway was not in repairing cars, but building a successful, profitable business that would yield a high return and increase in value as he approached retirement and looked to sell his franchise on. Within his first year Andrew received

over 600 leads from head office as well as developing his own local customer base. With demand continuing to rise, he has scaled up his operation substantially over the last two years, taking on two employees and another

genuinely astounded at the success of my business so far,” he confirms. “I’ve built it up by putting the right people into the right roles – the rest is hard work and doing the right things in the right order at the right time!”

Outstanding customer service Another franchisee achieving fantastic growth is Ryan Lythe, who was presented with the ChipsAway ‘Newcomer of the Year’ award. Ryan joined ChipsAway just over a year ago, but has already built a thriving business, despite the challenging economic climate. Ryan previously worked in the construction

looking for value for money,” Ryan explains. “The ChipsAway repair system enables me to complete superb quality repairs within a matter of hours and usually at a fraction of the cost of traditional body-shop repair methods. I offer a mobile service, so I can undertake repairs wherever is most convenient for my customers – whether that is at work or at home. I didn’t expect that my business would take off the way it has, but I’m delighted with my success and looking forward to expanding my business in the future.”

Strong franchisee support One of ChipsAway’s long-term success stories is franchisee Andy Darby. A former soldier, Andy became a franchisee with ChipsAway over 12 years ago and today operates a busy management franchise, with a team of employees serving his ChipsAway CarCare Centre and mobile unit across three territories. Named ChipsAway ‘Business Mentor of

the Year’, Andy works one-to-one with new starters imparting expert advice and support based on his years of experience, guiding newcomers through their first weeks. “Working with new franchisees is

incredibly rewarding, acting as a mentor through their launch and beyond. It also helps me ensure that my own standards up are up to scratch too, because that impacts on the ChipsAway business as a whole,” he says. “We constantly strive for high levels of

professionalism in keeping with our image as a car repair service which is a cut above the rest.” Paying tribute to this year’s award-winners,

Tim Harris says: “We are very proud of the ambitious, committed people in our network. The strength of our brand is reinforced every day by the quality of our franchisees and how they run their businesses. Our winners have all achieved success that benefits not only themselves, but also the rest of the network and the ChipsAway brand itself. They are excellent role models and great ambassadors for ChipsAway in our marketplace. We offer them our warmest congratulations!” n
