TOOLS Rivit safe choice for solar PV systems
Rivit Srl, an Italian company specialised in the production and distribution of blind rivets and fasteners, has announced the availability of its new comprehensive range of fasteners for solar PV systems.
R
ivit’s solar PV system fastener range includes: Gtreriv, Fiorivpanel and Lockriv rivets, Tubriv and Jackriv rivet nuts, Rivlock blind bolts and all the relevant tools for the safe installation of the solar PV modules.
Rivit highlights that using Quick fasteners in the installation of
photovoltaic panels on roofs, bricks or metal frames, compared to the conventional screws, nuts and bolts, helps reduce installation times, creates absolute tightness, and provides a higher disincentive to theft compared to the use of easily removable screws. Rivit points out that its Gtreriv rivets are ideal for fastening
solar PV panel brackets on corrugated sheets and sandwich panels, with the recommended tools for placing Gtrerivs being the RIV7 hand riveter, the RIV503 hydropneumatic tool and the cordless RIV750 and RIV760. The Fiorivpanel rivet was designed to be used
on corrugated sandwich panels for insulated roofing, and on brick hollow flat blocks. Rivit recommends that to place Fiorivpanels operators use the RIV7 hand riveter, the RIV500 hydropneumatic tool and the cordless RIV750 and RIV760. The Tubriv rivet nuts for heavy-duty fastenings,
and the Jackriv ones for light fastenings, are ideal for applications on sandwich panels, since they can create metric threads on thin thicknesses. Recommended tools for placing Tubrivs and Jackrivs are the hydropneumatic RIV916, the hand RIV903C, and the cordless RIV790. The Lockriv rivets feature a particular
New products from FAR
FAR Srl has introduced the model RAC 185, a new pneumatic tool for blind rivets from 2.4mm to 4mm diameter (5mm in aluminium only), which works without oil meaning that it requires less maintenance.
F
AR highlights that the RAC 185 is equipped with a very interesting air saving system with suction, which is automatically activated while holding the tool. In addition, the modern design makes it ergonomic and easy to use.
FAR has also recently introduced the new 6.4mm Tamp rivet with
body and nail both in galvanised steel. FAR explains that the 6.4mm Tamp rivet, which adds to the range of Tamp diameters 3.2mm, 4mm, 4.8mm and 6mm, is able to offer high standards of mechanical resistance and good vibration resistance. The rivet also retains the nail and it suits to irregular and out of specification holes. “Please visit our website
where you can find and download information on our new RAC 185 tool and 6.4mm Tamp rivet, as well as our new catalogue.”
PREBENA nails it
PREBENA Wilfried Bornemann GmbH & Co KG has introduced onto the market the new 5C-Z75 pneumatic nailing gun.
Double sheeting is also feasible without any difficulties. PREBENA highlights that the low weight of only

rugged transport case will be equipped with a safety yoke, silencer and a contact guard by default. The PREBENA Staple Type Z, up to 75mm (3 inches),
strongly galvanised and resonated with material number 1.4301 (stainless and acid-resistant steel) is certified according to DIN 1052:2008-12. These staples do have a technical approval.
he pneumatic nailing gun 5C-Z75 with its maximum staple length of 75mm (3 inches) suits especially well for the fastening of drywalls, Fermacell and wood fibreboards.
deformation of the body, assuring a wide tolerance of the hole diameter and also high shear and tensile strengths, making it ideal for riveting on aluminium. To place Lockrivs, Rivit recommends the hydropneumatic RIV508 or RIV504 riveters. The Rivlock blind bolts are a quick fastening system for
assemblies that require a strong mechanical resistance in parts subject to high vibrations. The reduced working-time is given by the overcoming of traditional fasteners use, such as bolts with nuts, together with an easy installation that requires no special skills. The system consists of a bolt and a collar; the fastening is done with the moulding of the collar on the bolt’s locking grooves. To place Rivlock operators can use the hydropneumatic RIV508 riveter, and the hydropneumatic RIV509 tool for blind bolts.
