Telescopic Eurofloor solution
Sharing a stand in the ‘Top Tier’ of the Show were QEP Co UK and Eurofloor. QEP’s
American
parent acquired the Porta-Nails floor nailer manufacturer in 2011, whose products are distributed in the UK by Eurofloor. As well as promoting Portanailers, Eurofloor displayed the telescopic Long Reach Sander from the range of another QEP subsidiary, Vitrex. “The sander was originally developed for treating plaster and floors before tiling,” said Eurofloor Director Russell Cooper, “but as soon as we saw it we knew it was also ideal for use on solid and engineered wood floors, particularly for ‘de-nibbing’ and removing ‘picture frame’ effects along edges. Using the tool, contractors do not have to kneel and can get the job done faster. We sold one to Southport Hire Centre at 8.30am on the first day of the Show, and by 11am we had sold six off the stand.” QEP’s display included Vitrex equipment such as electric tile cutters, hand-held mortar and paint mixers, and PPE, along with floor covering installation products from another subsidiary, Roberts, including carpet grippers, tools and adhesives.

Thwaites upsizes small Hi-Swivel
Thwaites has increased its dumper
range with the launch of a new Hi-Swivel Alldrive machine. Replacing the former 1.5 tonne payload Hi-Swivel, the newcomer gains 500kg more capacity and is being produced with the option of manual or hydrostatic transmission. Designated the 2 Tonne Hi-Swivel, the four wheel drive articulated site dumper can be elevated, to provide a maximum discharge height of 1220mm, and rotated through 180° to allow front or side tipping. The machine has a 29hp Yanmar engine and Dana axles.
The Dana manual transmission, with its constant mesh, change on the move heavy-duty gearbox, provides a maximum travel speed of 17.8 km/h in third gear. Likely to prove particularly popular overseas, the alternative Rexroth hydrostatic transmission allows speeds of up to 13.7 km/h in high range.

DeWalt promoted a comprehensive range of dust collection solutions for its large hammers and breakers, which it believes should meet the needs of virtually all hirers and their customers.
The DWH050K attachment
is for drilling, and when connected to a vacuum it also uses the suction to attach itself to the wall for dust collection at source. The DWH051K is designed for use with SDS-Max chipping hammers from various manufacturers, using the supplied collars and rubber ‘boots’ for different length chisels. The DWH052K fits large electric and pneumatic breakers using 28-32mm steels.
