his Yamaha decided to throw its chain on the opening lap of moto two. Suarez found himself running out front with Saldibar not far behind and ready to pounce. Saldibar was all over Suarez just waiting for him to make a mistake, right up until the penultimate lap when Saldibar went down. Suarez cruised home for the win and with the overall on the day, followed by the 3-2 of Erickson.

Some of the best racing on the day was in the

85cc 7-11 age class where Johnny Crovetti and Brandon Jennings were practically glued together in a battle over the top spot that would last for the duration of both motos. In the end it was Crovetti by just a couple of bike lengths for a pair of hard-fought moto wins. Nolan Colborn would card a pair of thirds. KTM-mounted Zachary Taylor walked off with a pair of first place trophies after four straight moto wins. Taylor ran away from his competition on each of the 65cc 9-11 age races over Mikey Lundin (3-2), Colborn (2-3) and Gio Levell (4-4). Taylor returned to continue his dominance on the day with a perfect 1-1 showing in the 65cc Open class, over Colborn (2-2) and Lundin (3-3).

yan Popp turned a pair of good starts aboard his CR125 Honda into runaway victories in the Lites Novice class at the A.V. Motoplex Ride Park, during the opening round of the M2X Racing’s Fall Finale Race Series.

First moto action saw Popp nab the early lead ahead of Brad Stewart. Ernesto Tinoyan was a few seconds back in third, followed by Mark Sandibar Jr. and Daniel Rapalo. Popp would prove to be untouchable on his little red smoker, as he steadily pulled away for the win. Rapalo, Saldibar and Anthony Montante would mix it up over third place throughout the race with Rapalo prevailing when the

checkers waved. Montante edged out Saldibar for fifth.

Popp proved that his little two-stroke was on par with the full gate of four-strokes as he shot out to an immediate lead in moto two and quickly started to pull away. Stewart had his Yamaha running in the runner- up position, ahead of Rapalo, Saldibar and Tinoyan. Saldibar and Tinoyan traded places on lap two with Dylan Waters coming from the back of the pack to get around both of them a lap later to hold down fourth place.

Meanwhile up front, Popp was enjoying a comfortable lead, mixing it up with the faster Intermediate riders in the process, enroute to his second moto win of the day. Stewart finished all by himself in second place, a safe distance ahead of Rapalo. Waters had problems on the final ciruit and dropped back to a seventh place finish, with Montante coming from the depths of the field for a fourth place finish over Saldibar and Tinoyan. Kawasaki-mounted Cameron Atkins went home with the tallest trophy in the 85cc Beginner ranks with an impressive double moto sweep. Atkins was running out front by the completion of lap one in both races where he would remain, uncontested for the overall honors. Taylor Giorgio gated in second place in moto one, where he would finish, ahead of Jason Dowell, Danny Gonzalez Jr. and Tyler Colvin. Giorgio suffered a poor start in moto two, but the end result was the same, as he climbed up through the field for another second place finish, this time ahead of Colvin, Dowell and Gonzalez.

Zachary Taylor picked up overall wins in both the 65cc 9-11 age and 65cc Open classes

Jordan Erickson got the jump on the rest of the Lite Beginner class in moto one and would run out front for the first half of the race before both Justin Mott and Nicholas Suarez would slip past him. Mott would continue on to see the checkers first, putting a little distance between himself and Suarez. Erickson held on for third over Samuel Saldibar. Mott’s first moto victory was all for naught, as
