2011-2012 General Orders No. 3
1. MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING: In accordance with National Bylaws Sec.110: “The calendar year of the Auxiliary is from January 1 to December 31. A member who has paid her dues to December 31 is in good standing. She ceases to be in good standing on January 1 immediately following the year for which her dues have been paid. She shall not again be in good standing until her dues have been paid for the current year.” On January 1, 2012, a member who has not paid her annual dues is not a member in good standing, and as such may not attend a meeting, hold an office or chairmanship until such time as her 2012 dues are paid.
2. VAVS AND HOSPITAL REPRESENTATIVES FUNDS: Our VAVS and Hospital Volunteer Guide provides that VAVS Representatives are to account for all hospital funds they receive and expend. This means a Representative is to record her receipts and disbursements in books used for that purpose, such as books used by a Treasurer. In addition, her books must be submitted for audit at the same time the books of the Department Treasurer are audited. If a dedicated bank account is maintained for the hospital funds (2) signatures shall be on file with the bank. Only one (1) signature is all that is required on the checks. The second signature is necessary in case of an emergency.
3. DEPARTMENT HOSPITAL FUND DONATIONS: Donations to your Department Hospital Fund are always welcome to insure continued strong support for this important program. Auxiliary checks in support of the Hospital Fund are to be made payable to your Department Treasury.
4. CORRESPONDENCE: All communications must go through proper channels as outlined in the Booklet of Instructions. The Department President should have the first opportunity to assist members and Auxiliaries in her Department.
