Loneliness and conflicting emotions are common. “They miss their soldier horribly, but at the same time they’re so proud of him, so proud to be married to someone who believes in honor and duty,” Lindemann said. “When you’re alone and it’s nighttime, and you’re worried and scared and lonely, [a blog] is a great place to work out those feelings.” It’s also interesting to look back at
the record of her growth. “It has made me more flexible, more resourceful and more open to receiving help from other people,” she said. Military spouses often have too much pride to ask for help, she added. “But this is something you really can’t do alone – and you shouldn’t.” n MS
