Auxiliaries worldwide, and each is an independent community of mixed personalities, varied talents, abundant strengths and…their fair share of weaknesses. The Extension Director makes it her job to help every Auxiliary nurture its strengths and address its weaknesses. Sherl Daverio is promoting the concept of the Red Flag Team to do just that.


WHO IS ON THE TEAM? “The Red Flag Team is based on Bylaws Section 810A. The five-person team can help maintain the health of an Auxiliary or a Department,” said Daverio. “The people should include the President, Chief of Staff, Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Chairman. As you can see from

the makeup of the team, some are elected and some are appointed by the membership.”


“It is important that this team be made up of Sisters who care about all aspects of the Extension and Membership programs and the continuation of Auxiliaries in good working order,” Daverio wrote in the National Program Book.


WHAT IS A RED FLAG? There are certain situations that should throw up a “red flag” that an Auxiliary is in need of assistance. One of the best indicators of an Auxiliary’s health is the audit. There is a saying that you can tell what matters to a person by looking at their calendar and their checkbook. The same can be said
