1. Centre motif on wadding and backing fabric. Tape in place and pin to secure layers. Photo 1
2. Use a machine free quilting stitch and foot. Move around the motif pattern freely, following the inside edges first, lock stitch. Repeat with the outside edge, and lock stitch. Lift the needle and move to the next point. Do not cut the thread ends until finished. 3. Stitch around the block, securing ¼” from the edge. 4. Fold binding strip in half lengthwise. Attach using a ½” seam, easing in the extra “stretch” that may have occurred on the project. Join ends with mitre seam.
