HAZEL MATHESON Forest Travel WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FAM?

I had been to Toronto and Canada’s west coast and I wanted to see the destination. Nearly everyone that comes into our agency first mentions Toronto or Vancouver and the west coast – most don’t consider going anywhere else in Canada. They think that once they have seen those two destinations they have 'done' Canada.

HIGHLIGHTS? We stayed one night at Auberge du Lace-a-l'Eau-Claire, an amazing place in a magnificent setting on one of Québec's most beautiful natural lakes. In total there are 12 lakes around the area, with around 42 kilometres of shoreline – one lake even has a natural sand beach. The area is suitable for hiking, water

skiing, fishing and many more outdoor activities. There’s a black bear and beaver observation point, which we visited. After a long wait we did not see a bear but the group was lucky enough to see a beaver busy dam building and swimming in a lake. Another enjoyable activity was the

ATV tour we did. Kitted out with helmets and protective jackets we set off through rough, muddy and deep water. It was great fun!

WHICH CLIENTS? Québec City is a great city break suggestion; there is so much to do and see. We walked around and got a real feel

for the city, which is perfect for exploring at your own pace. It really is a beautiful city – I’d love to be there during the Winter Carnival. The French sides of Montréal and Québec really offers something different and will perhaps appeal to clients who speak French and have a home in France. We stayed in pavilion-style accommodation overlooking a lake. With a bedroom, sitting room/lounge

and kitchen it would be suitable for a family wanting a weekend or a few days away from city life.

RALPH WARRINGTON Travel Counsellors WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FAM?

I had only seen the Rockies and wanted to see and experience another part of Canada which I could sell.

HIGHLIGHTS? I loved Québec City, its history and its general feel. It has a very European feel and seems a very safe and comfortable city to be in. Also, the cuisine was fantastic. A lasting impression is that there is such a wide range of activities in Québec.

"A fl y-drive holiday is the best way to experience all that Québec has to offer. The driving is easy and attractions well sign- posted. The auberge-style properties are fabulous"

It’s also very much a year-round destination. In Québec City we visited the site where they hold the annual winter festival, called Le Carnaval. It attracts ice sculptors and others

from all over the world and looks like a special time to be in Québec. Just talking to the locals, it seems

there is something going on in Québec year round.

Quebec City's made for strolling; ATV fun at Lac à L'Eau Claire, in the Mauriche region; Breakfast with a view

WHICH CLIENTS? Both Montréal and Québec City are perfect for city breaks while anyone interested in gastronomy, history, Canada’s Francophone culture, etc, will also enjoy it. Then there’s the countryside, the festivals, lakeside stays and the remote outback experience. I will also sell it to skiers.
