2011 Verdigris High School Girls Volleyball Team

CoachesAid is Oklahoma high school sports’ online magazine. The Media Day event is aimed at high school athletes and gives them the opportunity to have media exposure, which is a ‘first’ for many of the students. It also gives them exposure to potential colleges and a portfolio piece if their interviews are chosen for publication by local media. The day involves sports celebri- ties signing autographs, having profes- sional team photos taken, and drawings for items such as Apple TVs and video cameras. Students also attended a leadership summit lead by nationally-recognized author Bill Cordes who spoke about personal direction, motivation and goal achievement. Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives of

Oklahoma is a corporate sponsor of the event.
