swimming and meeting other teens. The fun takes place May 29 - June 1 at YouthPower Energy Camp, a four-day, all expenses paid youth leadership camp sponsored by Oklahoma’s electric cooperatives.

Teens who are interested in attending Energy Camp are required to write a 150 word letter to their local school board. The letter should address a change they would like to see implemented at their school. The letter should be submitted to the CEC office in Antlers, Hugo or Idabel by December 21, 2011 at 5 pm.

Create a crafty Christmas Ornament CEC contest for kids kicks off

elieve it or not, Christmas season will soon be here. That means the


Choctaw Electric Christmas Ornament Contest is looking for the craftiest, most creative ornaments from southeast Oklahoma kids.


The popular contest for pre-K through 6th grade students aims to promote the holiday spirit while encouraging kids to reuse and recycle materials in creative ways.


Ornament entries must be made of non-perishable, recyclable materials. They should also be of the proper size to hang on a Christmas tree. Entries should be delivered to Choctaw Electric


offices in Hugo, Antlers or Idabel by December 13, 2011. Every entry should include a sheet of paper with the name of the contestant, age division, address and telephone number.


Age divisions are:


Pre-K - Kindergarten 1st grade – 2nd grade 3rd grade -4th grade 5th grade – 6th grade


Ornaments will be judged and prizes awarded to the first place winner in each division on December 15. The winner from each age group will receive a $10 gift card. Photos of winning ornaments will also be


published in CEC Inside Your Co-op.
