DC/DC converters supply ultra- wide input range
CUI Inc., Tualatin,Ore., has expanded its V- Infinity product linewith the introduction of the VYB series of high efficiency 4:1 input DC/DC converters that provide output power ranging from10 to 20W. Packaged in an industry standard 2 x 1 inch footprint, the VYB devices are suited for battery-driven applicationswhere charging and discharging conditions require an ultra-wide input range. With a temperature range of -40 deg C to +85 deg C, the VYB10W, VYB15W, and VYB20Wconverters are suited for most operating environments.
Available in +3.3, +5, +12, or +15 Vdc single-
outputmodels and +/-5, +/-12, or +/-15 Vdc dual-outputmodels, the VYB Series accepts input voltages of 9-36 Vdc or 18-75 Vdc. Outputs are fully regulated towithin +/-0.5%over all line input conditions and +/-1.0%for all load conditions. Input to output isolation of 1,500 Vdc is provided across the range.
Other features include short circuit protection
for the entire series, and over-current and over- voltage protection for 15-Wand 20-Wmodels.

XP Power, Sunnyvale, Calif., has launched the MTC35 andMTC50 series of commercial off- the-shelf (COTS) 35-Wand 50-WDC/DC converters aimed atmilitary vehicle and avionics applications. These encapsulated board-mountedmodules accommodate a wide input range from10 to 40 Vdc, and can handle transients up to 50 Vdc for up to 100 ms. Single-outputmodules are available with
WAGO adds five EPSITRON power supplies
WAGO Corp., Germantown,Wis., has added five compact units to its EPSITRON power supply line. The EPSITRON COMPACT series targets applications with restricted installation depths. They comply with DIN 43880, specifying equipment dimensions for distribution and meter panels. Ranging between 30Wto 100W, the EPSITRON COMPACT units provide 12- and 24-Vdc outputs.
The seriesmeets UL certification, provides Protection Class II and allows for a wide input
range of feeds from85 to 264 Vac, which enables use in global supply networks without additional conversion or settings, saidWAGO.
The design enables distributed control
systems to be supplied in low-profile distribution boxes or operator panels. To support building automation, these power suppliesmay bemounted upside-down within ceiling panels.

DC/DC converters target mil/aero apps
+3.3, +5, +12, +15 or +28 Vdc outputs and can be adjusted between -20% and +10% via an external trimpin.
When used in conjunction with XP Power's
DSF, FSO orMTF series of standard EMI filter modules, theMTC series complies withMIL- STD 1275A/B/C/D andMIL-STD 704A standards for surges and transients, andMIL- STD 461E/F for conducted emissions and susceptibility. The unitsmeet the environmentalMIL-STD 810F specification that covers shock, vibration, humidity, temperature, salt spray and altitude.
With baseplate cooling, the converters are
suitable for use across awide range of operating temperature from-40 deg C to the maximumcase temperature of +100 deg C. Unit startup is possible fromas lowas -55 deg C.

GreshamPower Electronics, Salisbury, UK, has introduced the PS200-48-32-GR AC/DC single-output power supply for outdoor lighting and sound control systems. The wide input range of 90-288 Vac is designed to be used fromAC power available fromstadium and outdoor power sources. The single- output is customer selectable between 32 V and 48 Vdc at 200W.
The PS200-48-32-GR features a typical
efficiency of 86% at 230 Vac and full load, a power factor of 0.90 typical at 230 Vac, and a hold-up time of 16msminimum. The power supply is brown out, over-voltage, over-
current and over-temperature protected. The operating temperature ranges from-5 deg C to +50 deg C with an optional -40 deg C version exterior range available on request.
The power supplymeasures 27 x 84 x 38-
mm(3.3 x 5.0 x 1.5 inches) and weighs 700 gmmax (26 oz). The unitmeets FCC CLASS B, CISPR 22 CLASS B, EN55022 CLASS B with external line filter, and all international safety agency approvals. The device is CEmarked and offers an expectedMTBF of greater than 300,000 hours per BELCOR 332, issue 6 specification@30 degrees C.
