New menu for Dragonair
Dragonair has launched a new inflight menu in conjunction with The Square, a Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong that has been awarded a Michelin star for three consecutive years. The new inflight menu, with over 20 dishes,
was offered to all passengers travelling from Hong Kong to Beijing and Shanghai, and for First and Business passengers to Taipei and Kaohsiung. The new dishes include chilled jellyfish buds
and cucumber with chilli sauce, steamed cod fillet with salted mini dried fish, wok-fried pork with dark vinegar sauce, and stewed ox cheek with curry sauce.

Finnair expands pre-ordering
Finnair has expanded its Business class on-line pre-order meals service, already available on some European regional services, to include all intercontinental flights. Passengers can choose from three different menu options: Wellness and Energy (offering wellbeing and peace of mind), Food Lover’s Treat (wholesome home-cooked food) or Chef’s Gourmet (high-level gourmet cuisine). Orders can be placed on-line at the earliest
14 days and at the latest 24 hours before departure.

Accolade for Alpha
Alpha-airfayre has been awarded Best Overall Performance Tier 1 Kitchen for 2010 by United Airlines. The award recognises caterers who service between 2000–6000 flight departures during the course of the year. Criteria used in assessment are safety
(recordable aircraft damages); reliability (on-time performance); DIS 123 (flight attendant feedback); UP kitchen meal score. Catering for the airline since 1991, the Heathrow unit has won a number of awards from United and was recently awarded a two-year contract extension to continue servicing flights until December 31 2012. Alpha Flight Group is wholly owned by the
Dnata Group and currently operates in 58 airports in 11 countries, producing over 120,000 meals a day.
