Exciting times
Finally the industry has got what it wanted in the form of a single European exhibition, and the acquisition by Reed Exhibitions of ITCA’s European tradeshow should prove good news all round. The re-named show, World Travel Catering Expo incorporating ITCA, in Hamburg, will be a stand-alone event with its own hall and OnBoard Hospitality will be working
closely with ITCA and Reed Exhibitions to ensure all the right people are there. This issue of OnBoard Hospitality introduces three new writers to the magazine,
covering their specialist subjects, Inflight Entertainment, Ancillary Revenue and Airline Trends. We look forward to developing these important topics and invite you to send in your news. Our front cover is the perfect example of how onboard
packaging can be both stylish and eco-friendly and our feature on the latest packaging trends shows there’s now hardly a trace of aluminium to be found these days, it’s all sugarcane, bamboo and even old plastic bottles being used to create a ‘greener’ onboard product. It is with a very great sadness that we have to report
the resignation of ITCA chairman, David Young, on June 30. A tribute to this very special man, and an outstanding chairman will be published in our next issue.
