WEMCO Non-Clog trailer
Weir Specialty Pumps announces new product lines
Weir Specialty Pumps has announced the release of its newest product lines,
the WEMCO® Non-Clog pump, WEMCO® Non-Clog Diesel Engine-Driven trailer unit, the Weir Prime Assist and the WEMCO® Food Transfer pump.
The WEMCO® Non-Clog pumps have been designed and developed using the lat- est in 3D computer aided design technology, resulting in a more modern and innovative product compared to conventional non-clog pumps. One such improvement was to combine the bearing frame and bracket, which reduces maintenance costs and increases rigidity and reliability. The WEMCO® Non-Clog also carries an industry-leading 66-month warranty.
As a logical addition to the non-clog line,
Weir Specialty Pumps developed an assisted priming system called the Weir Prime Assist. This unit is highly engineered, with significant improvements over other priming systems in use today. Included in this release was the WEMCO® Non-Clog Diesel Engine-Driven trail- er package. The Weir built package includes
an adjustable lifting bale, fuel tank sized for minimum 24 hour operation, heavy-duty diamond plate ‘stand- on’ fenders, electric trailer brakes, larger tyres and three removable levelling jacks. Within weeks of its introduction, Weir Specialty Pumps received its first order for the trailer package. The third introduction is the WEMCO®
Food Transfer pump. It is specifically de- signed as a food handling/ transport pump, rather than a solids handling pump, minimising damage to the product being handled, while maintaining high levels of efficiency. The pump is suitable for food processing plants, distiller- ies and wineries and is capable of handling a range of whole and cut foods, such as peas, potatoes, carrots, lettuce and even live fish. With the newly released WEMCO® Non- Clog and WEMCO® Non-Clog trailer pack- age with Weir Prime Assist and other existing
products, Weir
Specialty Pumps is set to target the rental pump market and has
therefore become a member of the American Rental Association. Established in 1955, the association now
represents more than 7,500 equipment rental businesses and 1,100 manufacturers and sup- pliers of rental equipment in the USA, Canada and more than 30 countries around the world. The association’s core purpose is to promote the success of its members and advance the growth of the rental industry through a range of services including The Rental Show where Weir Specialty Pumps exhibited for the first time in February 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The US$40 billion-plus North American
rental industry continues to grow and member- ship provides credibility and helps to foster relationships with the rental sector.
Sales meeting launch
To ensure the strategy and business targets for 2011 were clearly communicated and understood by the
control & choke valve sales team, Frank Hussaarts, global marketing and sales director, hosted a 2011 meeting in the UK in January.
A total of 26 direct sales managers from the Weir global
network in Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific, USA and Canada attended the three day event, the first such meeting since the formation of the product focused business in December 2010. At the close of the event, Frank commented, “Whilst our targets for 2011 are challenging, the whole team is excited and enthusiastic about the opportunities available to Weir within this product sector.”
