Kanye West ‘Run Away’

Lasting an actual whopping 35 minutes Yes 35 Minutes! This man is everywhere and for once he’s actually getting atten- tion for his music… well directing skills. West stars alongside Vic- toria Secret model Selita Ebanks for this mini movie which tells the story of phoenix, which mirrors his own his own fall from grace and eventual rebirth back into the spotlight, its slightly confusing

if anything but there’s no doubt he continues to push boundaries and doesn’t just play safe.

Nicki Minaj ft

Rihanna ‘Fly’

When these two team up you know it’s going to be an instant smash! And this empowering feel good anthem does just that, taken from Minaj’s highly antici- pated album ‘Pink Friday’ this live

performance has taken the world by storm and not just because of a bit of cheeky bum grabbing oh behalf of Rihanna, so its an understatement to say we are very excited at the least to see the directed offering.

Shakira ft Dizzee

Rascal ‘Loca’

The Columbian singer gives into her wild side and hit the streets of Barcelona with absolutely no warning to the public, it shows her interacting with her fans as she returns to her roots to dance, jump in fountains and errrr jump on the back of a motorcycle. Sha- kira fears she’s facing a hefty fine when she returns for shooting the video without a filming permit but insists it will be worth it as she has had fun with the fans, ‘It was the best experience in my life…. I think music is about spontaneity and I refuse to lose that aspect of my life’.

Nelly ‘Just A Dream’

Nelly’s going all dramatic on us with this very slick black and white video for ‘Just a Dream’ showing us a softer side, but be- ing almost borderline a perfume commercial. He walks along the beach thinking about a girl he couldn’t commit to, remembering the good times before everything just bursts into flames. Its all a bit Inception esk, and there is again a unclear conclusion was it just a dream? A bit over the top but still a warm welcome back to you Nelly.

Pink

THE GUESTLIST NETWORK | DECEMBER 2010 Videos of the Month

‘Raise Your Glasses’

Yet another witty video from the most opinionated woman in pop who says she wrote the song as a ‘celebration for the people who feel left out from the popular crowd’. Pink is hardly subtle when it comes to her opinions so it comes as no surprise she’s taken another pop at society’s rules once again totally embrac- ing being unique with this full -throttle pop/rock stomper!

DIARY OF A PROMOTER

We catch up with our resident club promoter Jonathon Scales and he gives us the low down of what its like to be a club promoter in the West End.

Christmas is upon us, snow has been falling heavily for the past few days which has been a night- mare for everyone including Club Promoters like me.Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year: Corporate bookings, Christmas Parties and the highly lucrative New Years Eve parties make December a very profitable time for me, however... the mon- ey I make in December needs to see me through the drought of January which is as quiet as an audience reaction to one of my jokes.... (see what i mean). Janu- ary is the worst time for any pro- moter; it is one of those months where people just don’t want to go out. They are either skint or simply over partying and need a break from it all. New Year’s resolutions are a killer for my business as top of the list tends to be, “no alcohol” and “no party- ing”, two of the most important things in my line of work!. Fortu- nately resolutions only last a few weeks before people give up so come the start of February I should be back to normal! On the subject of NYE if you have not al- ready thought about sorting any- thing feel free to check out www. nye-london.co.uk where you can buy all your tickets, as a early present type in“guestlistdotnet” for a 15% discount! This month I have been with US Superstars,

Ameriiee and B2K as well as UK girl band “The Saturdays” all joining me at my parties. I have just launched a brand new night where we have a high profile artists come down and either perform or host the night... at a premium! It is amaz- ing what c e r t a i n agencie s ask for. I do know allot of famous people and when I call an agency I find it un- believable what they “tout” their “artists for! Big Brother acts start at £2.5K! it all about who you know and the cheap- est

(but

riskiest) way is by book- ing through a friend who will bring them down, If you are friends with

any celebrities let me know let do some business together!I wish everyone who reads this paper a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year! See you in 2011!
