Happy birthday! We heard it was your birthday, didn’t you celebrate it in South America? How did you spend your day? Thanks! It was a sweet birthday, because I was at home. After one year based in Düsseldorf, I came back to Buenos Aires, to start a South American tour, and first stop was my town!
Yeah, there is no place like home, right? When did you start playing music?
Music is something that has always been there, my grandmother was a great pianist, she is actually an amazing one nowadays, but she is always complaining about how old she is and how slow her fingers are. I love her, she’s a really big inspiration as are all my family, big musicians, writers, painters... really artistic people.
You are one of them! Where do you live, and there is any other place where would you like to live and why? As I said I moved to Dusseldorf about one year ago, after some years of madness in South America and Europe. I decided to get a base there, a new home town, and Düsseldorf is our paradise, our

town. the feeling is very strong because Desolat is there, so is our music and also our main man, the Loco guy! It’s seriously very hard to imagine my life out of there, I must say Buenos Aires is my first choice and will be forever of course, I grew up there you know. There is a really strong connection and my feelings are running really deep. I’m loving London too at the moment.
The London crowd loves you too! You just made a remix of Steve Lawler’s ‘Gimme some more’, we really feel that track and your work, we think it’s a great remix. It was a great pleasure to work remixing Steve Lawler, he is has been a great artist since I was a kid, it’s really amazing to be involved on something with him, and I think the song is hot! (laughs) Very happy with that collaboration.
Guti, you are part of the Deso- lat Family, which is probably the hottest label of the year! How do you find working with so many BIG artists?
Well, amazing! It’s a real family, with every brother and sister doing really different things. Everyone is working really hard to create something
special with music, from Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich, the Visible Heads, to Vladimir Ivkovic, ghost label manager, it’s an artist label for artists, that is the heart of the group, everyone is so talented. It’s really in- spiring for me, and all the artists are absolutely amazing. It’s not easy to be part of the group, those guys are really gifted, it’s pure music and you can feel it in every gig and in every song... I being part of the family, I’m really happy.
Nice, tell us what do you think about the London’s crowd It’s a very special crowd, because the cultural background is totally different. I truly believe that if you are really into your world and love your own music you can give that energy to the people, and they get it every time. I love to play there, magic nights!
Totally agree with you, it’s all about energy and vibe! You have been playing at Ushuaia with the gang, how was the vibe in Ibiza last summer? Amazing! Great fun every week, with our girl as a resident but all of us and friends as guests. It’s been a really nice experience for the whole group, and a nice platform to show

Are you collaborating with some of London’s Djs at the moment? Aside this remix from Steve Lawler, I love Nic Fanciulli as a friend, he is a great guy. Got the feeling that we will end up making music together, but it is a future plan.
Haha! OK, have you got any projects in the pipeline? My album, first artist album on Des- olat. It is coming out next February, and there I will also show my story as a musician, with a lot of things to listen to and things for the dance floor, it is certainly the beginning of a new path for me. It’s a really big step forward. It will be out next year, and is my whole life right now, can´t stop thinking about the songs, and writing a lot of new music all the time. It’s the most amazing project of my life, it’s a big opportunity, and I am taking it.
What is your favourite tune? La esquina - Loco Dice
I love it too. The key to suc- cess?
Love the things you do.
Matter to Reopen in 2011
The sister club of Fabric- Matter located in Green- wich’s o2 arena opened it doors to the ravers of London back in 2008. Now half a year since finan- cial troubles forced it to shut its doors, this super club will reportedly be back in business early next year. The venue will be run by AEG, the company that owns the o2 center, and will no longer have any association with Fabric. Were not fussed on this-as long as it goes back to the club that provided us with heavy nights like Hospitality and FWD&Rinse, here at TGN we eagerly await the night that Matter will re-open its doors to London once again!Let the rave return...n 2008.
