Salonwear specialist Salonwear Direct has raised £6,500 forWestYorkshire charityThe Haven, fromsales of their bespoke ‘Haven’ tunic.The tunic was specially designed with a pink trimand pink heart ribbon logo based on that of Salonwear Direct andThe Haven.


FITE assistswomen in business across 50 countries worldwide.


The company aims to raise awareness of breast cancer with £2 fromthe sale of each ‘Haven’ tunic donated to the charity. It costs the charity over £1,000 to provide the Haven Programme, which includes counselling, complementary therapies, emotional support and information, to every visitor to attends the Haven centre.


“We knew that the ‘Haven’ tunic would be popular with our customers, but the response has still surprised us!” says Ilan Sherman,Managing Director at Salonwear Direct. “The tunic will continue to be featured in our catalogue into 2011, so we look forward to donatingmoremoney toThe Haven next year.”


Join the FITE for women in business


Dermalogica has announced a new global initiative that will extendmicroloans to 25,000 women worldwide through FITE - the organisastion Financial IndependenceThrough Entrepreneurship.This philanthropic initiative is the latest expression of the Dermalogica brand’s legacy of empowering women, based upon the businessmodel created by skin therapist and Founder JaneWurwand.


The skin care company will work with the non-profit microfinance leader Kiva.org to help facilitate the loans through a unique website - www.joinfite.org, and connect with women entrepreneurs inmore than 50 countries worldwide including the UK.


“Women aremore likely to take the proceeds from their businesses and invest themin nutrition, clothing, housing and education,” says Premal Shah, President of Kiva.org. “Kiva’s partnership with Dermalogica on FITE creates a powerfulmeans to empower women throughmicroloans, resulting in positive implications for both families and communities. Eighty-two percent of Kiva.org’s borrowers are women; their success stories are inspiring, and the need continues to be substantial.”

Italian professional brand RVB has announced a new partnership for the distribution of their products in the UK.


Effective immediately, the company has appointedThe FraserMuir Group to handle distribution and training in the UK. Both RVB (Italy) and FraserMuir (UK) have a long history, stretching back in excess of 40 years, dedicated exclusively to the professional salon and Spamarket.


New training facilities are now available at the new RVB training centre at Beeston Green, Bedfordshire, and there are also plans to hold training sessions in various centres in the North and South.

Newrecruits for iiaa


Salons in Scotland and Ireland have access to fresh advice on skin care and nutritional supplementation following the appointment of two new skin analysts by the International Institute forAnti-Ageing (iiaa).


Lynsey Smith will be responsible for serving the iiaa’s stockists in Scotland, whileTina Newman will cover Ireland.They join a growing teamwhich hosts free events for salons, to help increase sales and client loyalty.


Lynsey’s career has included working at the five-star Scotsman Spa as a beauty therapist and running a salon business, whilstTina previously worked as a sales representative for Revive Beauty and was responsible for marketing skin care, nutritional andmake-up products.
