Makeoversmake a difference


Twelve girls, supported by London’s homeless charity Centrepoint, experienced confidence boostingmakeovers thanks to a selection of leading hair and beauty professionals, and the ‘Make a Difference’ committee.


The two-day event featured hairdresser RichardWard and his team,Tracey Cahn fromCahnAromatherapy and make-up artists fromRevlon and New CID Cosmetics. The girls received hair andmake-up lessons and relaxing handmassages plus experienced life coaching techniques that they could apply in everyday situations.


RichardWard says: “Centerpoint are doing a fantastic job at helping these girls and it was great to host this event and see all the hard work and time everyone put in tomake this night special.”

Tens of thousands of hairdressers attended an inspirational hairdressing exhibition when Salon International took place in at London’s ExCel centre recently.


With over 220 stands, the exhibition showcased the best of British hairdressing, product innovation and manufacturing.


The Hair Show was the hub of the event with live stages fromghd,TIGI, Keune,Toni&Guy,Wahl, Denman,The Fellowship for British Hairdressing and BaByliss Pro.Many of the UK’s greatest hairdressers appeared including HJ’s current British Hairdresser of theYearAkin Konizi, plus Patrick Cameron,AdamReed, Simon Shaw, Steven Goldsworthy, Leo Bancroft,Mark Leeson, Ken Picton andAndrew Barton.


Minogue KylieMinogue has been raving about mineralmake-up in a recent interview with InStylemagazine.


She described how she and sister Dannii are always phoning each other up about beauty products to try and went on to say: “We both discoveredmineralmake- up a few years ago and are huge fans.”


Commenting on the Jane Iredale collection, she told themagazine: “I’ma huge fan of thismineralmake-up range!”
