Dear Readers
Happy NewYear!Welcome to 2011 and all of the hope, anticipation and excitement each January brings. I hope that you, like us, have high expectations for 2011.
Whilst there’s no doubt that 2009 and 2010 were filled with financial doomand gloom, a new year gives us something to look forward to. I’mnot saying that this year will be easy, with VAT increases in effect fromthe 4th January and increased austeritymeasures effecting all aspects of our society. However, what a new year allows us is to try to wipe the slate clean of any failings wemay have experienced last year, and raise our levels of positivity.
This issue of Guild News offers you plenty of advice on how to build your business in 2011. Both JohnMcClements and LizMcKeon share their expertise on what you should resolve to do this January that will help your business not just survive but flourish over the coming months.
We look at ways that you can boost your treatment turnover for very little investment, through offering fast, profitable alternatives to freehand nail art, andmaximising your spray tan equipment. Plus, let us guide you through every January’s hottest request - inch loss treatments.
Retailing should be an effortless way to increase your salon’s profits, so we’ve a choice of
St.Valentine’s Day gifts that should fly off your shelves, and a round-up of the frostiest nail shades to complement this season’s icy forecast.
Enjoy this issue and have a wonderful start to 2011.
Best wishes, Get your free tickets online!
