Executive Assistant


The Executive Assistant (EA) will provide administrative support for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and works with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Executive Assistant to the COO in the Executive department. Respon- sibilities include general administrative duties; managing, editing and responding to correspondence; establishing and maintaining filing systems; planning meetings; maintaining contact lists and other databases; and managing and assisting with projects related to communications with AWEA’s staff, Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Leadership Council.


The EA to the CEO will interact frequently with internal staff, the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, the Leadership Council, and the Chairs of the various AWEA committees. The EA must maintain up to date contacts with Capitol Hill, DOE, and the White House and build relationships with schedulers and EA’s within those offices to bridge communication.


AWEA is a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda and a staff that is highly motivated. This position may experience high level work demands and very independent decision-making under tight timelines. Some overnight travel is required.


Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree is required. Excellent computer skills (including MS office programs, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are required, along with the ability to quickly learn new programs as needed. The ability to use Adobe Indesign is a plus as is meeting/event planning and trade association experience. Experience in government policy and/or the wind industry is also a plus.
