STEP 3: I use my vinyl plotter to cut out a mask of my website address (or whatever text you want). This will be used as a shade transition from the top to the bottom of the panel.

STEP 4: First I spray the text with Base Coat White. This is an opaque color as I do not want the ground metal design to show though the text.

STEP 5: Next mask off the top text (which stays white) use some Pearlized Base to lightly shade in the second from top text. Next, move the mask down one and shade in the text slightly heavier than the first. Repeat this process all the way down the panel until the bottom text is the darkest. Once this is dry, remove the vinyl mask.

STEP 6: I spray a coat of transparent base, which works similar to an intercoat clear to help protect the previous work. I layout my graphic design with some blue 3M 1/8” fine line tape and then mask off the areas which need to stay unpainted for now.
