Happy Holidays and welcome to this installment of
Ask Jammer. This being the December/ Holiday issue, I thought instead of answering your questions I would share a great selling item for you to airbrush during the holiday season. Some of you may have been doing these for years and some have never thought of airbrushing these but I thought I would show you the way I airbrush Christmas stockings. Kids love them and it gives the parents another way to have the stockings customized, they look much bet- ter than a plain old stocking. The first thing you need to do is find the stockings made of the felt like material not the fuzzy ones. You can airbrush the fuzzy ones but they don’t looks as good. You can buy these at most discount stores for a dollar after you add your custom airbrushed design you can sell them for $10 and up depending on how elaborate the design is. Step#1: First you want to fasten the stocking to your shirt board, which I did here with some clothespins. I spray the stocking with Aqua Flow top binder and heat set it for 15 seconds; you can also use Createx extender then heat set it. Heat setting the stocking with the binder applied makes the fabric flatter so you get less overspray when you airbrush it.
