Here you can see the progress of the bullets. After com- pleting all the holes, I take a rust brown (transparent) color


and shadow around areas of the holes. Here I want to cre- ate a aged effect. To make it look like the rust is running and been there a long time, I start at the edge of the bullet hole, spray and pull the airbrush down and away from the hole. This creates a soft dagger effect. I then go in with trans- parent black to darken the lower corners of selected bullet holes. I touch up with more rust and keep moving foreword with the holes. This is one of those projects that is pretty hard to mess up. Any mistake, paint spitting can be incorpo- rated in the design.


Final close-up of the design shows a balanced mix of tem- plate and freehand to create this effect.
