John Murphy passed away October 13, 2010, after a long battle with illness, Vec- tor Security Inc. announced. Murphy served as president and CEO of Vector Security Inc. from 1991 to 2010. A
dedicated industry veteran, Murphy was greatly involved with several industry associations, especially the Central Sta- tion Alarm Association (CSAA), where he completed a term as president from
2005 to 2007. Mur- phy was also with the Electronic Secu- rity Association (ESA), the Alarm Industry Research & Educational Foundation (AIREF), the Alarm Industry Communications Com- mittee (AICC), and the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International (APCO). Murphy’s many contributions to the security industry were recognized with numerous industry awards, including the CSAA’s Stanley C. Lott Award, the CSAA’s most prestigious recognition, in 2008; and the SIA, CSAA and ESA’s Triton Award in 2009. ■

In addition, Henry Brothers will con- tinue to operate under the same name and will become a subsidiary of Kratos. “We don’t intend to change the name at all,” Goodwin said. “We’ll keep the Henry Brothers branding. That’s another posi- tive from our perspective. Henry Brothers has such a great brand in the market that we don’t want to lose that.” The transaction is subject to the satis-
faction of customary closing conditions, including a 40-day “go shop” period. Henry and all other directors of HBE, who collectively hold approximately 60 percent of HBE’s shares outstanding, have agreed to vote their shares in favor of the anticipated merger. Goodwin commented the deal is
