UL FIRE PANEL UPGRADED TO DOUBLE CAPACITY AND ENHANCE EASE OF USE Bosch Security Systems Inc. introduced a new generation of the FPA-1000-UL analog/addressable fire panel that now includes support for up to 508 address- able devices. Using two analog address- able loops, the FPA-1000-UL has doubled

its capacity to support larger applications, such as schools, warehouses and office buildings. Innovative enhancements to the panel’s built-in Web interface have made operation easier and more secure. New features such as online help and an

offline configura- tion tool make provisioning easier and more efficient for customers. Its Web server and set of interactive Web pages provide an instant means to access important system functions, including sta- tus, history files, diagnostic tools and test data. UL listed for central station, local, auxiliary, and remote station systems, the FPA-1000-UL has essential equipment built-in, such as notification appliance circuits, signaling line circuits, program- mable relays, a power supply, and digi- tal alarm communicator transmitter.

HARDENED SWITCHES ARE DESIGNED FOR INDUSTRIAL NETWORKS KBC Networks launched a series of environmentally hardened, Ethernet edge switches. The KBC ES range features both managed and unmanaged switches that are designed specifically to meet the demands of today’s indus- trial networks. The KBC switch range includes an unmanaged entry-level series, suitable for straightforward IP camera networks, as well as switches that offer fiber interfaces, embedded serial server data ports and SFP ports (Small Form Pluggable — a flexible port that allows users to select either a fiber SC or RJ45 interface). Security networks and safety-critical systems rely on high-speed recovery. To meet this demand, the KBC switches offer redundancy through DT-Ring or DT- Ring+ technology to ensure recovery times of less than 100 msec. “Introduc- ing the Ethernet switch range is just the next step in providing our custom- ers with the widest possible choice of transmission products designed spe- cifically for demanding environments,” said Steve Kuntz of KBC Networks.
