My Diary: Stella Dalton
British social responsibility certification company GamCare Trade Services’ (GTS) business development manager Stella Dalton reveals what the next month has in store for her including the GamCare annual conference and EIG in Copenhagen.
DIARY D
elving into my diary to see what October had in store, I looked at my calendar and thought ‘where do I start?’ with such a busy time ahead. The GTS office has been buzzing with a change of staff and new projects, on top of our continuing work with the industry to make sure players are protected. It’s great to see so many companies showing their continued commitment this year with so many renewals on top of increasing demand from new operators for certification. It’s really welcome news to see companies operating TV and mobile phone gaming value GamCare Certification to help protect their players.
The main event this month is okies say month, along with several high brow
the thought of another flat racing superstar. Frankel’s recent success at Ascot, combined with a win at Newmarket would see similar excitement build throughout the winter and be a boost to the sport.

The flat racing season comes to a climax with the second leg of the autumn double, the Cesarewitch and the Dewhurst Stakes, which is likely to set a clash between the
unbeaten juveniles Frankel and Saamidd. The former was hugely impressive when landing the Royal Lodge Stakes at Ascot last month but he has met nothing of substance and Saamidd could represent the value. Frankel is the
favourite with Stan James for the Guineas, but caution on antepost wagers for the Derby as Henry Cecil believes 10f will be his optimum trip as a three-year-old. England meet Montenegro in a Euro 2012 qualifier and the Three Lions ought to be able to make home court advantage count even without the tortured soul that is Wayne Rooney leading the attack. With Jermain Defoe also out it looks as if Sunderland striker Darren Bent, who got the winner in
Switzerland last time, will be given the nod up front. The Black Cats striker may lack the class of many international players but he keeps banging in the goals. He can net the Wembley opener.

GamCare’s conference on the 12th. I’ve been asked to speak about GamCare certification and the notes are nearly all ready, with the conference so popular this year the pressure is on! Lunch afterwards will be a great time to chat and catch up with friends. After GamCare’s conference I’ll be heading home quickly as I have to get an early night before waking up at a very unhealthy hour to rush to St Pancras and catch the Eurostar to Brussels. On arrival I’ll head over to the European Parliament for the EGBA Responsible Gaming Day. With an ever more connected industry across Europe, it’s vital to see what others are doing and talk about best
practice to promote responsible gaming across the EU.
After a day catching up in the office it’s then time for a long weekend back at home in Liverpool seeing friends and family. After this quick recharge the 18th will come around and I’ll jump on the plane for the EIG conference in Copenhagen. Thanks to Clarion Gaming’s generosity Teresa Tunstall and I will be ready and set up at Stand 240 so everyone is invited to drop by and say hello and find out a bit more about what GamCare is trying to achieve in the area of social responsibility. Finally, I’m looking forward to getting home for a nice relaxed family lunch with my sons to round off a very busy couple of weeks.
