Town Centre Car Parks (TCCP) has taken over the management of the Merrion Centre car park in Leeds from car park operator Q-Park. TCCP is a division of
Town Centre Securities, the Leeds-based property investment and development company, which is also the owner of the Merrion Centre.

enable the company to refurbish and modernise the car park and make its pricing structure more flexible to reflect the needs of shoppers, tenants and other commercial users at the Merrion Centre. Ben Ziff, managing
director of TCCP, explained: ‘Tis decision

ONE-STOP SOLUTION FROM PARKING SPECIALISTS A trio of leading companies in the UK parking industry has announced a unique partnership to provide the market with the first end-to-end solution, delivering off-street revenue
parking. The automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) enforcement technology developed by ANPR International is able to interface directly with Metric’s range of pay-and-display equipment and then
link through to Mouchel Traffic Support’s ICPS notice processing software.
In a recent joint announcement, all three partners said that the deployment of this technology,
combined with the other enhanced services offered by the group, would have beneficial effects for the whole of the industry, local authorities and private operators alike.
Good win in Welwyn
CP Plus has been appointed by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council to manage the council’s 17 car parks for a seven-year period. CP Plus was
appointed by the council’s cabinet to completely overhaul the systems, payment schemes and parking environment of each site across the borough. Te car parks
experience intense congestion and have been subject to a significant amount of abuse. CP Plus has been tasked with tightening up parking controls,

managing the enforcement policies and transforming the previously restricted payment scheme into an innovative, flexible, incentivised process. CP Plus will install
ParkingPAL, a pay- on-foot system, and Parking Applications,
which replace barriers with automatic number plate recognition (ANPR). By removing entry/
exit barriers, CP Plus will reduce queuing and create additional spaces. A grace period will ensure those who are unable to find a space will not be charged. Te ANPR technology automatically generates parking charge notices (PCNs)
if a vehicle exits and the driver has not paid. Te system also
recognises repeat offenders whose vehicles may be clamped.
