Cut a 36” length of smoke Fireline and thread a beading needle. Create the first section: String 12 seed beads to make up four sides of a square with three beads on each side. Pass the needle through the first nine seed beads, again creating the square. Add sections to complete first row of squares: String nine seed beads (three sides of three beads each). Pass through the three seed beads from the far side of the square previously made, securing the three new sides, creating a square. Sew through the two new sides and exit needle through the far side that will become part of the next section. Repeat until the desired bracelet length is achieved, working one row clockwise, then counter-clockwise. Note: Remember to allow for

the button and closure loop when figuring the length of the bracelet.

Add another row: Pass through the last section to exit at the bottom side. String nine seed beads (three sides of three beads each). Sew through the three beads that formed the bottom of the last section again, securing the three new sides onto the existing one. Sew through the beads to exit the side where the next section will be. Stitch across additional row: Note: Two sides already exist for the next section. Pick up six seed beads (you only need two sides of three beads each) and stitch through the two existing sides. Attach the two new sides onto it, completing the square. Repeat across the entire row, changing directions with each new section. Stitch through the beads to exit the far

side where the next section will be. Note: You may need to stitch through five sides to arrive at the far side where you begin the next section; for other sections you will stitch through only three sides. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to complete row 3.

Tie several half hitch stitches while reinforcing the groups of three beads along the end of the bracelet. String a seed bead, a crystal, and a seed bead. Cross the square diagonally and pass through the opposite side of the square to exit in the identical corner of the next square. Repeat through the entire row and then finish the other three rows the same way. Follow the existing thread path to get around the corner when you get to the end of a row in order to reach the next row. Stitch a button centered on one end of the bracelet. On the opposite end, stitch a seed bead loop large enough to fit easily but securely around the button. Stitch a few half hitch stitches to secure the loop end.
