“Much of my designing for this collection is of similar components. With the use of smaller components joined in a myriad of ways, one is left with more flexible design options, where a simple element can become a more involved design. Designing and beading is very much like a puzzle to me. Rivoli bezeled with a netted stitch can be joined easily with jumprings, a technique I utilize often. It is also not a coincidence that this ensemble compliments The Damsel and the Dragonfly (p.54). Many of the designs in this Bead Trend’s collection are built from complimentary colors and can be worn interchangeably together.” – Lisa

BRACELET Bend an antique brass Deco vines filigree slightly around a curved surface. Cut a 2” length of 24 gauge gunmetal wire and create a wrapped loop. String a 4mm Swarovski tanzanite 2xAB crystal bicone and make a wrapped loop. Repeat 15 more times. Using groups of three cable chain links, join three bicone links created in step 2, beginning and ending with a bicone link. Repeat three more times. Repeat step 3 joining two bicone links together, beginning and ending with a 3-link cable chain. Repeat. String a headpin with a 6mm Swarovski heliotrope margarite and create a wrapped loop. Attach the margarite dangle to one end of the chain created in step 4. Repeat. String a headpin through a margarite, a 6x30mm antiqued brass engraved toggle bar, and a 2mm antiqued brass bead and create a wrapped loop. Attach three of the chains created in Steps 3 and 4 in the following sequence onto a 7.25mm jumpring: bicone linked chain, margarite linked chain, and bicone linked chain. Attach the 7.25mm jumpring to one end of the Deco vine filigree’s scroll as shown. Attach opposite end of chains to a 5mm jumpring and then attach to a 22mm antique brass hammered ring with a 4.75mm jumpring. Repeat for other side to attach the remaining chains to the Deco vine filigree’s complimentary scroll. Attach remaining chains with a 5mm jumpring to the toggle bar. Attach a 4.75mm jumpring sideways through a netted stitch of a bezeled rivoli (instructions on page 49). Join two additional 4.75mm jumprings to this jumpring and attach to the Deco vine filigree at the center spirals as shown. Repeat on other side to center and lock the rivoli focal.
