Thread a spool of beige or white micro cord with a big eye needle. String 18 8/0 silver-lined seed beads and 104 11/0 red seed beads. Repeat alternating 18 8/0 silver-lined seed beads between 104 orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and lavender seed beads. String 18 8/0 silver-lined seed beads. Note: Do
not cut the cord from the spool.
Attach a slip stitch to a 1.15mm crochet hook and leaving a tail, make a six bead chain stitch with the last silver-lined size 8/0 seed beads added to the strand. Slip stitch into a round, creating six beads in a circle. Begin the next row by inserting the hook into the first bead and bring a new bead (from the strand) down to the hook. Yarn over and pull the thread through the loop on the hook. Continue crocheting six in the round with the size 8/0 and increase to eight beads in the round when you reach the 11/0
colored seed beads. Note: You will decrease to six beads in the round for silver-lined and increase again to eight for each color.
Continue crocheting all the beads on the cord with the appropriate increases and decreases. Cut the cord leaving a 6” tail and bring the end of the cord through the loop on the hook to secure the beads. Cut two 5” lengths of cable chain. Beginning at one end of the beaded strand, thread the tail end of the cord onto the big eye needle and bring the needle through the end of the beaded strand, having the cord in the center. String an 8mm silver round bead, a wire guardian, and the first link in a 5” length of chain. Thread the wire back through the 8mm silver bead. Pass the needle down into the beaded
strand and out the side. Note: Do not bring your needle directly through any beads on the beaded strand,
rather to the side, catching some of the crochet cord. Pull taut and make a few half hitch knots around some of the threads. Trim excess cord. Repeat to connect the second length of chain to the other end of the strand. Using split rings, attach half of a toggle clasp to each end of the necklace.
