Buildings Energy Effi ciency Funding Scheme – opportunities for energy effi ciency consultants

The launch of the funding schemes to property owners in 2007 encourages different sectors of the community to conduct carbon audits in buildings and reduce carbon emissions. Last year, more than 100 organisations joined the initiative.

Promotion of the use of electric vehicles – opportunities for EV manufacturers (commercial and battery suppliers)

The Environmental Protection Department is working on the strategy and specifi c measures to promote the use of electric vehicles. They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a few Japanese car manufacturers in supplying electric vehicles. The Government is very keen to fi nd a suitable supplier of commercial EVs for trials in Hong Kong. Corporate users are concerned about the battery life on current EVs and are actively seeking longer life battery for better range per charge.
