Singapore water sector offers
Over the past 40 years, Singapore has managed to overcome its water challenges through its integrated water resource management, investments in research and technology and the encouragement of community involvement in water management. Today, Singapore has in place a sustainable water supply
system through a diversifi ed supply strategy with four different sources, namely: local catchments, imported water, NEWater (or recycled water) and desalinated water. This is known as the Four National Taps strategy. In recognition of the progress and achievements that Singapore has made in integrated water resources management, its national water agency, the Public Utilities Board, was awarded the prestigious Stockholm Industry Water Award in 2007. Going forward, Singapore strives to improve its water
resource management further through strategic research and development and by growing Singapore into a global hydro-hub for water technologies and solutions. Key targets include: •
