Technology Webinar Series - a series of one-hour webinars focusing on different aspects of using technology in your classroom. Webinars are taking place until May 13 on Thurs- day afternoons from 4-5 p.m. Webinar dates and topics are as follows:

What is a Webinar?

Webinars are “web seminars,” which include both an audio and online component – you simply need a telephone and a computer with Internet access to attend, and you will be able to interact with the instructor and other participants while you learn. Summer 2010 Workshops

It’s time to start planning for summer professional develop- ment! The summer calendar is quickly filling with courses and workshops, including sessions on technology, elementary methods and instrument repair. A preliminary schedule is below; please note that other workshops will be added be- fore summer. Continue to check the web site for details and updates – registration will open soon!

• June 14-18: Elementary Methods Week – a series of single-day workshops on Orff, Kodály, Dalcroze and Gordon techniques

• June 21-25: CMP Workshop at Edgewood College in Madison

• July 5-8: Sibelius Notation Software, Levels 1 & 2 • July 5-16: Orff Level 1 Training • July 14-15: Percussion for the Non-Percussionist

• July 19-20: SmartMusic Learning Software, Levels 1 & 2

• August 2-3: Elementary Choral Reading Session • August 4-5: WCDA Vocal Jazz Institute • August 4-5: Band Instrument Repair

Members of the WSMA High School State Honors Selection Committee deliberate in the Pleasant Rowland Innovation Center to determine the ultimate makeup of the 2010 honors ensembles.

New Teacher Center holds a mentorship workshop for Waunakee School District at the Wisconsin Center for Music Education in February.
