ture Demilitarization Facility. General Atomics Corporation, La
Jolla, CA These projects make extensive use of styrene pat-
terned sheet and styrene extrusions airbrushed in latex and
metallic paints. Other materials include brass etchings, cast
metals, steel wire, and polycarbonate.
Claremont-McKenna College Tennis Center, NTD Architects,
Inc. Airbrushed styrene showing University colors on tennis
court surfaces. Court line work in white Prism color pencil.
Court nets and fences in airbrushed enamel on etched brass.
Species-specific trees of twisted copper wire armature and
crushed foam.
Multi-family residence, Las Angeles, CA Airbrushed flat and
patterned sheet, shaped foam and etched brass. This large-
scale condominium model presented a very challenging mask-
ing operation to achieve clean surface finishing in highly con-
trasting colors. The scale also demanded a high degree of
interior finishing treatment due to the large glass areas and
visual access to interior spaces.
University Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ, NTD Architects, Inc.,
San Diego, CA Airbrushed styrene and polycarbonate on
shaped foam base. This project required pre-assembly and
pre-finishing of many building components due to its “additive”
design solution.
