It was then on with the first layer of clear coat. This isn’t smooth, but not too far off, and the next one after
a wet sand with 2400 micromesh will improve on that.It does start to show up the pearl yellow though!!
Finally, the second layer of clear coat hardened enough, and was smooth enough not to wet sand and
polish! This clear coat looks fabulous, but seems to take a long while to harden after its touch dry. This
may be because I have no ‘oven’ to bake it in at the moment.
All finished and even if I do say so myself looks
fantastic!!!!
About the Artist:
Clive of Airborne Custom Paint, aka 533clive,
has been airbrushing about eighteen months
now, although always ‘dabbled’ with art
throughout my life. I find ‘traditional’ airbrush-
es hard to get on with, but am now getting pret-
ty deft with my Iwata Revolution TR0 and TR1.
Although I use my airbrushes a lot for my art,
I am getting more drawn towards paint pens,
Posca ones are my weapon of choice, and as
a lot of my art could be described as ‘tattoo’
inspired, these make an ideal medium.
