This page contains a Flash digital edition of a book.
On the white area, the main area’s of the picture were sketched out. Then with ComArt Transparent Smoke
the background details were added keeping the reference picture close at hand. I’m not worrying too
much about tight lines as it’s out of focus on the pic anyhow. Once happy with the background, it was
masked off using ‘Ultramask’ and the detail started! Tight detail is really hard at that small scale for me
at the moment, so some compromises were made! Once un-masked and the latex covering the overlap
removed a gentle drop shadow was added underneath the picture. Again another coat of Medea topcoat
laid on to protect the artwork. This topcoat is great to use as a water-based inter coat clear, as it dries well
and can even be sanded (lightly!!!!) carefully, protects the artwork underneath and doesn’t seem to react
with any of the clears I use.
My new logo was then added just on one side. (As
an aside, my new website should be ‘live’ some
time in the early New Year, watch this space!!)
