ALUMNI | Affinity Groups


The Trinity Business Alumni, the global association of graduates of TCD from all academic disciplines who are engaged in business activities, enables alumni to connect and network, to learn and to contribute to the development of business, College and wider society.

The Trinity Business Alumni (TBA) has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Our membership base now exceeds 1,000 members and we have had some excellent events and activities with top-class speakers including Sir Michael Rake (Chairman of BT Group plc), Philip Lynch (CEO of One51 plc), Áine Lawlor B.A. (1982) (RTÉ Broadcaster) and Senator Feargal Quinn LL.D. (h.c.) (1988) (founder of Superquinn). We have also launched a successful breakfast briefi ng series, which focuses on some relevant themes and topics of interest to our members. Recently, we had Anindya Roy (Head of Strategy in Accenture) and Ronan Lyons M.A., M.Sc. (Econ.) M.Litt. (2002) (economist at Daft.ie) address this forum.

We are also delighted that a number of corporate partners have affi liated with the TBA to help bring much needed resources, skills and capabilities to the association – Accenture, the Irish Stock Exchange, The Irish Times, NCB, KPMG, and Ulster Bank all bring great energy, scope and credibility to our activities. We are delighted to have their support.

It is our ambition to grow the TBA in support of the evolution of the College and to become an ever more relevant network to the wide range of Trinity graduates in business today. Mark Ryan B.A. (1982), Country Managing Director of Accenture in Ireland is currently President of the TBA and he is supported by a strong committee of graduates from a wide range of disciplines. The committee has some very ambitious targets and activities planned for 2009/10.

Join Us

In order to register with the TBA, you need to be a graduate of Trinity College (from any discipline) and currently working in business. There is some great enthusiasm and activity right now. We encourage alumni to check out the website at www.tba.ie to register and receive invites to future events. We hope that as we continue to develop our online presence over the coming months that alumni all over the world will be able to link back to Trinity and keep the alumni network alive.

Dublin University Women Graduates Association (DUWGA)

Peace, leadership, mentoring, sustainability, human rights, water, and food security, were among the themes discussed when DUWGA members visited Cyprus, Belfast, Geneva, Galway, Vienna and India in the last year. In 2010, DUGWA hopes to attend the International Federation of University Women's Conference in Mexico.

Marie-Louise Heavey B.A. (2006) adjudicated the DUWGA round of our public speaking competition for girls under 15 and Senator Ivana Bacik LL.B. (1989) and Alison McIntyre B.A., M.Phil. (2004) were invited to judge the 2009 national final. The DUWGA members’ programme includes an annual dinner, a weekly poetry/reading group, lectures, outings, theatre visits. The group also continues to entertain returning scholars and graduates.

DUWGA welcomes women graduates of any recognised university in the world.
