Lisa Flynn B.B.S. (1997)
Since graduation, Lisa has taken up a career as a Chartered Secretary living in both Belgium and her birth place, Australia. Having gained experience in two of the top fi ve accountancy fi rms, Lisa joined Bank of Scotland (Ireland) in 2004 where she is now Company Secretary. Lisa has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA).
Alan McNab M.B.A. (1997)
Alan has returned to Dublin from New York to accept a new position with NCR as Vice President of World Wide Customer Advocacy and General Manager of NCR's Irish subsidiary.
Jennifer Taaffe B.A. (1997)
History graduates Jennifer Taaffe and Gavin Corbett B.A. (1998) married in Rome on 5 October 2009.
Richard A. MacKinnon B.A. (1998)
Richard has been based in London since graduation. He is now working as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with Talent Q while studying for his Doctorate in Occupational Psychology at the University of East London – ironically focusing on work-life balance! April Cronin B.A. (1981)
April has been principal teacher in St Catherine's National School, Donore Avenue, Dublin 8 for the past 16 years. She is married with two daughters, Isabel and Natalie.
Joseph Hegarty M.Ed. (1981)
Joseph is former Head of School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology at DIT from 1972 – 2005, and Chief Technical Advisor and an expert in hospitality education and training with the UNDP/ILO in Bali, Indonesia; Lagos, Nigeria; and Kathmandu, Nepal. He was project evaluator in Fiji, Uganda, and the Seychelles and was awarded the EuroCHRIE (Hospitality Educators) President’s Award for outstanding distinguished service and contributions to education and training for the hospitality industry at the EuroCHRIE 2008 Congress in Dubai. Joseph is currently co-editor of the Journal of Culinary Science and Technology.
(Mary) Eithne Treanor B.A. (1981)
Eithne is an independent professional media trainer, conference moderator, corporate TV reporter and founding director of ETreanor Media, based in Dubai and London. She has travelled the world, helping business executives and professionals sharpen their message and improve their on-camera performance. She has worked with training and PR companies and has trained business journalists in the UAE, Russia, Pakistan and South Africa. She has also taught a practical journalism course at university level in the USA. She also has a post-graduate diploma in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
David Taplin M.A. (j.o.), F.T.C.D. (1983)
David was awarded the Premier Gold Medal of the International Congress on Fracture (ICF) in Ottawa on the occasion of his 70th birthday. The Inaugural ICF Takeo Yokobori Gold Medal was awarded for his research on fracture and his contribution to ICF 1969-2009.
Rory Windrim M.B., M.A. (1984)
Rory was recently appointed Full Professor in the University of Toronto, Department of Obstetrics. He completed Subspecialty training in Perinatology and established the Regional Preterm Pregnancy Centre.
James (Jim) O’Sullivan B.A. (1986)
Jim was listed in Irish Central’s 2009 Wall Street 50. He is Managing Director and senior economist for UBS. He was named Forecaster of the Year for 2006 and 2008 by Dow Jones MarketWatch. He lives in Manhattan with his wife Margaret Molloy, VP Marketing at Gerson Lehrman Group, and their two sons, Finn and Emmet.
