Double the guarantee on preserved timber
A new brand of preserved timber called PermaTimber has been launched by Walford Timber and it comes with a guarantee of 15 years. The company has also recently been accredited with ISO9001 status of international quality assurance. M D George Smith said
“The new brand allows us to support those with a need for a longer lasting product yet we will continue to offer our quality range of non-kiln dried timber” The range of products
launched under this new umbrella will also be available on request treated to the stringent Highways Sector Scheme 4 requirements which have a 30 year desired service life.

JCB unveils 2yr /
2,000hr Warranty JCB has doubled its
standard warranty period on the full range of compact excavators, to two years or 2,000 operating hours. The revised warranty covers all 15 models, built after October 1, 2009, from the 950kg Micro 8008 to the powerful 8.2 tonne 8080 ZTS midi. The warranty excludes
batteries and standard consumables such as ground engaging parts. Customers will also be
required to show that machines have been maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

launch Greentec Mosskiller Pro 4- 0-4+Fe at BTME in January. This new greens-grade mini granule has approval for moss control in managed amenity turf and with 75% of the available nitrogen derived from sulphate of ammonia, Greentec Mosskiller Pro will also act as a spring starter or low temperature hardener, where prolonged colour but not growth is required.
Headland will also be
running competitions specifically for those attending the three day show. Among them,
the popular carbon
offsetting initiative where saplings are given as prizes in an effort to offset some of the emissions produced by the Headland team on the road.

Royal Aberdeen builds up for the Walker Cup

As part of the build-up to the
Walker Cup in 2011 Royal Aberdeen Golf Club has recently renewed its John Deere course maintenance fleet for the second time. A total of 21 new machines have been bought on a five year John Deere Credit finance deal with 19 older models from the previous fleet being traded in. The new package included four 2500E hybrid greens mowers, four 180C walk-behind greens mowers, two 7500 PrecisionCut
fairway mowers with grass boxes, an 8800 TerrainCut rotary semi- roughs mower, a 2653A tees & surrounds mower, two 4320 compact tractors, a 1500 Aercore aerator, five TE Gator electric utility vehicles and a Pro Gator, to add to his existing 4700 and 4115 compact tractors and three 220B walk-behind greens mowers.
