The Litamisa is three-point linkage mounted with a single acting, hydraulic tipping facility. Two widths are available, 1.2 and 1.5m.” The Wasp G1 street sweeper distributed by Simon Tullett Machinery is a firm favourite for parks and grounds care, due to its


attachments for use on its skid-steer, compact tracked and all wheel steer loaders. Bobcat sweeper attachments will sweep, collect and dump dirt in both forward and reverse directions. The attachments are designed for cleaning and sweeping roads, pathways, driveways, car parks and pavements.Sweepers are equipped with a reversible cutting edge that helps to loosen caked-on mud from the ground and the attachment’s polypropylene bristles deposit dirt and other debris in a hopper from which the dumped material can be spread evenly across a site, said particularly useful for landscaping projects.

Making one machine do several jobs has become more important as local authority budgets are squeezed. Scarification helps to rejuvenate turf by removing thatch and encouraging new root growth, but is, by its nature, seasonal. The latest generation of flail collectors will pick up the debris, and can be used with different tools to perform a variety of tasks year round.Ryetec’s Professional flail mower/scarifier collector range is supplied with both paddle flails for grasscutting and with scarifying flails for multi-purpose use, and can be easily adjusted for the chosen scarifying depth. An access door gives easy access for swapping blades and for cleaning the machine after use. Models are available with ground tip and high tip, in 1.2, 1.6 and 1.8m working widths.“A recent addition is a parallelogram tipping frame which positions the weight of the hopper further forward for an easier tip with smaller tractors,” explains Ryetec’s Mark Harrison. “When used on the Professional it makes for a lighter machine and doesn’t affect the tractor’s stability. The design, which was originally conceived for the Mini models to enable the smallest tractors to handle high tip collectors, also makes tipping to 1.8m a more affordable option.”The Mini range comes into its own on restricted areas such as golf greens and tees and cricket wickets, and it can now be fitted with a front roller to help follow ground contours. Working widths are from 1.0 to 1.6m, and tractor requirement is from 15hp.

Bobcat’s sweeper attachment range covers sweeping widths from 1120 to 2130 mm and bucket capacities from 0.19 to 0.52 cu.m. A gutter brush attachment can be fitted to the larger sweepers to clean drains, kerbsides and the base of walls. Large metal bristles are used to produce a thorough cleaning action and the brush is mounted on a heavy, tube-constructed steel arm.

Other options include a front roller to help reduce the chances of scalping and in-cab remote control to allow the operator to activate the head unit lift and lower, hopper lift and hopper tip.
