Five National Sins

According to the prophecies of the scripture, we believe the restoration of Israel as a nation and the return of Jerusalem to Jewish control on June 6, 1967 signaled the beginning of the last generation to live on earth before the return of Jesus Christ to earth. This means that among those born in or after June 1967 there will some who will live to see the glorious return of Christ. The prophecies also foretell many things which we have seen in this generation and the most horrible events yet to come. I could speak of September 11, 2001 and the prophetic swarming of the locust army that began on that date Revelation 9:1-3. I could speak of the war in Iraq, and the loosening of the forces of Babylon Revelation 9:13-14, which had been bound for thousands of years, but were

“loosened…to slay the third part of men” Revelation 9:15. Rather than going into detail about the horrible worldwide conflict that is rushing upon us, I will instead point out the five sins which the scriptures say have brought these things upon our nation.

their decision does nothing to end abortion. We will be judged by God for our murders.

3. Sorceries: The Greek word which was translated as “sorceries” is “pharmakeia,” which refers to our “drug culture.” According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), 107,622 people died from drug overdose in 2021, up 15% from 2020, yet we seen many states legalizing their use. The result has been the murder and mayhem we see in the streets of America's largest cities.

“And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.” Revelation 9:20-21

4. Fornication: Merriam-Webster dictionary defines “fornication” as; “consensual sexual intercourse between two persons not married to each other.” According to recent statistics, over 40% of babies born in America are born “out of wedlock.” That number indicates “fornication” is a huge problem in America, but it is just the tip of the iceberg. The Greek word which was translated as “fornication” is “porneia,” which refers to all sexual

1. The first among these sins is “idolatry.” For the first two hundred years of our nation's existence, we were a monotheistic nation, which means we worshiped only one God; the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the Father of Jesus Christ. In fact, on February 9, 1892, the Supreme Court of the United States in the case of “The Church of the Holy Trinity vs The United States” declared in the majority opinion that “America is a Christian nation.” It was not until 1965 that Congress changed our immigration laws in such a way that the result was an influx into America of those who worship other gods. These brought their gods with them and America became an idolatrous nation for the first time in history.

2. Murders: The second great sin of America is our murders. On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court decided on the case of Roe v Wade that abortion on demand was a right of every woman. Since that time over sixty three million babies have been murdered in their mother's womb. This is the American holocaust! There is nothing in the history of the world to equal this in number. King Pharaoh of Egypt had children thrown to the crocodiles; King Herod had all the babies under two years of age murdered in Bethlehem, but nothing has rivaled abortion. While it is true that the Supreme Court has recently overturned Roe v Wade,

sins, including adultery, fornication, homosexual and lesbian, incest, and pornography. The Supreme Court decision to legalize gay marriage was a slap in the face of God, who defined marriage as being a sacred covenant between one man and one woman.

5. Thefts: The theft problem in the large cities of our nation is obvious. The no bail release and prosecutors who refuse to prosecute criminals have given us the roving bands of thugs that invade retail stores in broad daylight to rob them of their merchandise. These things will only increase unless there is a mass return to faith in Jesus Christ and biblical morality by those who profess to “believe in Jesus.”

These five sins, according to the prophecies of the scriptures, will bring World War III and the loss of one third of the population on earth. There is no hiding place on earth, but there is a “secret place” of rest in Christ for those know and believe the truth of the gospel. For all time God has forgiven the sins of those who repent and turn to Him, so forgiveness was not the reason Christ died on the cross. Instead, He died “to make an end of sin” Daniel 9:24-25, John 1:29, I John 3:5. Let me send you my free book titled “The Reality of the Cross.” It explains in detail exactly why Christ died on the cross and arose again the third day.
