Ceteris: Leading Commercial Landlord Expands with Ambitious Growth Plans for Central Scotland
Falkirk Business Hub
Karen Bathie, Oper- ations Director
As Ceteris approaches its 40th anniversary in 2025, the Clackmannanshire-based commercial landlord continues to make a significant impact in Central Scotland’s business landscape. With 21 business parks across 10 locations, the recent £2m acquisition of Falkirk Business Hub expands Ceteris’s footprint across the Forth Valley, positioning the organisation for even greater growth. Reinvesting profits back into the local area, we spoke to Karen Bathie, Operations Director about Ceteris’s mission to support economic regeneration and their future plans
Q: Why was the acquisition of Falkirk Business Hub important for Ceteris?
Acquiring the Hub allows us to support more businesses in the Forth Valley region with modern office, co-working, and meeting spaces. It’s our first property in Falkirk and aligns with our goal of providing dynamic, flexible environments for enterprises.
Q: You own 21 business parks—who are your tenants? Our tenant community is diverse, including over 260 businesses from various sectors. We provide serviced office space, laboratory, co-working, and industrial spaces, hosting many local companies, social enterprises, and national UK brands.
Q: Can you tell us about your sustainability goals? Sustainability is central to our strategy. We’ve installed solar panels at five business parks, introduced EV charge points and committed to achieving net zero by 2045. We also help our tenants reduce their carbon footprints, supporting their own
sustainability goals
as we work together for a greener future.

Q: Forth Valley Business Week was a major success. Can you share some highlights? Forth Valley Business Week is an annual event we organise offering networking and insights to the local business community. This year’s theme, Navigating Change, highlighted new opportunities in the area and included contributions from the Forth Green Freeport, the University of Stirling, Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce, tech accelerator Techscaler, and Robertson Group. With over 300 attendees across 12 events, the fantastic turnout reinforced the importance of collaboration across our region.
Q: Can you tell us about your upcoming storage village? We’re developing a new storage village at our site at Dumyat Business Park in Tullibody near Stirling and Alloa, set to open in early 2025. This facility will offer secure, flexible storage with drive-up access for both commercial and domestic use, responding to demand from our business community. Our waiting list for space is now open.
Q: What does Ceteris’ 40th anniversary mean to you? As Scotland’s biggest landlord with a social purpose, this anniversary is a significant milestone for us. For 40 years, we’ve offered commercial space and innovative support services, reinvesting our profits to support economic development in some of Central Scotland’s most deprived communities. We’re celebrating our long-standing impact while looking forward to future opportunities.
