LBA are both Bionic acids (BAs, the fourth-genera-
tion AHAs), a polyhydroxy acid (PHA) attached to a sugar molecule. They bring more excellent skin care functions.
One of the notable differences of BAs is their hygroscopic nature due to the multiple hydroxyl groups on the molecule. BAs readily attract and retain water, and can form a gel matrix when an aqueous solution evaporates at room temperature.
