HEXCELPACK LAUNCHES ECO-FRIENDLY VOID FILL SOLUTION TO PROTECT PRODUCTS IN TRANSIT HexcelPack has introduced HexaFil, an eco-friendly cushioning solution to protect products in transit. 100% paper-based and recyclable, the void fill solution utilises a three-dimensional hexagon design and slit paper technology to make the paper ‘flex’, expanding its volume while maximising strength and stiffness. When dispensed, the paper spirals like a helix to create the bulk needed for effective void fill, ensuring items will be nestled in a stable position and reducing the risk of damage during transport. HexaFil is available with both manual and automatic dispensing units to accommodate different shipping speeds. Hexcel Composites www.hexcel.com

For Chanel’s new Les Beiges product, the luxury brand turned to Texen and its partner Roctool. For the 10cmx10cm format, Chanel chose food-grade rPET. This meant the developers had to pay special attention to the thin-walled compact’s hinge, said to be particularly difficult to assemble. Texen spent 18 months investing in its industrial capabilities and working with Chanel to adapt its industrial model to this end. Texen www.texen.com
